Alrighty, as promised in my last blog, it's time for cd of the week!! My album of choice this time around is Pillar's new record "Confessions." I've been a fan of Pillar since their first record "Above" back in 1999, and in my honest opinion, this is their best record to date. If you're not familiar with their music, then prepare to get rocked!!! These guys are a hard rock/alternative band that rocks for all the right reasons. They love Jesus and not only is it evident in their music, but lead singer Rob is an ordained minister at lifechurch.tv. If you've been a long-time fan like me, you'll find that this record has given Pillar a little bit of a new sound. I love records that are created around a specific theme and it is throughout the project from the first to last song, in the artwork, and even in the music videos. Of course, Confessions is built around not letting sins and struggles going unnoticed. It's about not letting you regrets get the best of you, getting your darkest secrets out in the open, and allowing God to heal the pain from it all. Lead singer Rob also served in the U.S. military and there is always at least one song on each of their records that just fires you up to do battle. A few songs that really stand out are "Secrets and Regrets", "Fire On the Inside", "Call To Action", "You Are Not the End", and for all you Collective Soul fans, a great cover of their first single hit song "Shine". Overall, this record is a great listen, and it really challenges me to always be honest about my struggles, not to mention it's a rock fest!!!!!
I really want to keep blogs like this happening, especially for believers who don't know much about christian music. This is an untapped resource that is brimming with great stuff!!!! Please let me know what cd's you would like to see reviewed in the future!!!! I'd like to pick a rap/hip-hop artist for my next one. I'm also going to start working on a list of artists and their musical style. Most charts I've seen compare christian artists to their secular counterpart, and I think that just isn't the best way to go about telling new believers about christian music. Hopefully this list will be a little more helpful. It is my passion to share this with YOU! Thanks always for reading!! Philippians 4:8

Hello Chris!!
Thanks so much for that review. Will definitely check that out.Can relate SO much on pain and healing.God does wonders and indeed we need more people, especially youth,to listen to more Christian music.I am really concerned about the secular stuff that's out there.Wow,it's really shoking to hear how far "left" secular music has gone.
Like can you review Toby Mac? He is so awesome too.
Praying for you guys and thank you for writing these blogs.

Can you review Skillet's Awake? Thanks in advance!
Wow! That was an awesome review. I personally am like you. I have ALWAYS been a pillar fan since Above. Recently i DID find where you can get Metamorphosis. I have a couple of Christian rap/hip-hop guys you should check out: Benjiman and Manafest. Manafest has been out for years. His latest is called Chase due out in March. Benjiman is somewhat new though. Still to this day, I pop in Activate and blare it loud. Keep on blogging Chuffy.
